Economy plays a massive role in the Enchanted Hills. Your gold is worth a great deal. Every single part of the game is backed by actual effort and in-game allocation of money. The state of available materials may influence how much players will pay each other for crafted items, and the like.

Gold

Gold is the most typical form of currency, though other precious metals do exist and are used for trade, gold is the irrefutable standard. Immediately upon joining the Enchanted Hills, a character begins with 1000 gold pieces.

Having gold is valuable, but hanging onto it can be even more valuable. Some items can cost tens of thousands of gold pieces, and some can be as cheap as 100. What you do with your money is up to you, however it is important to remember that the game is designed with the assumption that players are using the items in it. A character that never employs the use of potions or equipment will be at a disadvantage compared to others.

There are many ways to accumulate gold; Selling off items you obtain, exchange for services to other characters, electing a crafting profession, and it is also distributed as a typical reward for event participation.

Housing

Homes are not an infinite resource. Real estate only exists if there is room for it, and the Enchanted Hills is a booming economy. Character housing comes in many shapes and sizes, ranging from holes in the ground to luxurious castles and palaces. When your character first begins their journey into the Enchanted Hills and files for citizenship, they are arbitrarily assigned to an Inne that can accomodate them.

It is assumed that your character is washing dishes, sweeping floors, and other small odd jobs to cover their rent as they live there temporarily. Upon gaining enough gold to purchase their own establishment, a character can buy property in any of the major cities. There are several types of property for sale, and they are listed in the real estate markets.

Every kind of real estate ownership will generate a steady trickle of gold for a character each week. The more grandiose the home, the more income is generated. This is intended to reflect that your character is making money and gainfully employed through some venue.

In addition to the houses which are available for purchase, a character may build their own house anywhere they desire in the Enchanted Hills. Whether it be behind the secure walls of Darkthorn Capital, or along the Gallow’s Coast on the waterfront, or out on the frontier by your lonesome.
