Death

Death is a very real danger in the Enchanted Hills. One of the most attractive elements of the game to many players is the risk involved with everyday gaming. While many measures are taken to ensure that devotion and effort is well rewarded, it is imperative to remember that the Enchanted Hills is a game; And it is possible to lose at it.

Death occurs for many different reasons, and should not be confused with unconsciousness or 'defeat'. There are a few obvious ways for a character to die.

The experience of death is quite taxing on the mind. It is not something that should be approached lightly, nor should it ever be flippantly played out.

Dying

Death does not often come instantly. While there are certain considerations (decapitation, disintigration, etc) where a character will be unable to struggle, there is usually a chance to fight back.

Resurrection

Death is not always the end of a character's participation. In many cases, the ability to resurrect a fallen comrade is possible. The process of resurrection is psychologically staggering, and should never be played out lightly.

Resurrection can be done in a few ways; The most obvious is the use of the Healing abilities. Additionally there are Scrolls of Resurrection that characters can purchase with gold. Finally, if there is no other way to be revived, the District of Dawn has NPC healers that can perform this task for an expensive fee. The character would wake up in the Chalice of Light in the District of Dawn, located in Darkthorn.

Resurrection is possible if the following conditions are true.

Resurrection is taxing on both the recipient and the one performing the service. When a character is resurrected, they will suffer a sort of weariness for 24 hours that cuts all vitals in half. A character who is killed and resurrected ages 1 year every time they are brought back to life.

The Resurrection weakness wears off after 24 Hours, 4 a.m. Eastern Standard Time the following day, or Cure Ailment is cast. Whichever occurs first.
